A little while ago i herd on the radio about laser hair removal that was only one treatment and lasted up to ten years. I didn’t catch the name or number and I cannot find it anywhere. Is it real? If so I need help finding it!
I don’t believe it to be true because hair grows in cycles. One treatment would damage the follicles of one cycle, but not rid it after only one time. It takes several treatments and generally doesn’t last quite 10 years. Laser hair removal can be very expensive, so don’t fall for the gimmicks.
Ok, I have an appointment Friday for some laser hair removal. Am I supposed to shave my legs like normal, or am I supposed to leave some stubble so the laser has something to zap at. I don’t want to show up unprepared either way. Thanks for the help!
Hi!
Before getting treated, you should shave the area 1-3 days before your appointment. Do not use any other methods of removing hair at least 4-6 weeks prior. Laser hair removal works by targeting hair shafts and destroying them. The laser needs a root to target and destroy. Shaving cuts excess hair allowing the laser to concentrate its energy on the root only, not wasting any energy on hair above the skin’s surface; waxing or other methods of hair removal pull the hair and root out, leaving nothing for the laser to target.
For areas such as the bikini area for women and the neckline for men, if you have hard to see hair, it is best to shave closer to 3 days before your treatment so that some stubble grows back and the specialist can follow your hairline.
Avoid the sun, as the paler your skin, the more effective the laser treatment, as the laser is designed to target the melanin in your hair. An increase in melanin in your skin as a result of sun exposure will reduce the effectiveness of the laser. You should also avoid using self-tanning creams and sprays.
Do not apply any makeup, lotions or creams immediately prior to your appointment.
The same guidelines apply between treatments. Be sure to ask your specialist what to expect and if there are any other special preparations he or she would like you to take. An open dialogue with your specialist is key to a good experience and great results.

I’ve read in a number of sites that laser hair removal treatments should be spaced 6-10 weeks apart. The clinic that I visited asked me to space 3 weeks between each treatment. I’m confused and can’t decide if I should space it as recommended on so many websites or to listen to the nurse at the clinic. Btw, the treatment was for my legs.
If you are a professional, please advise.
6 weeks, that’s how long it takes for the hair to grow back. i guess 10 weeks wouldn’t be a bad idea if you want it to grow out a lot more and make it easier to take out for good.
Just tell me the advantages of brazilian waxing to lazer hair removal. I really need to know.
The Advantage of brazilian wax? It costs lower as compared to laser hair removal and the result is instant. In laser hair treatment, it requires several treatments.
Although brazillian waxing produces instant result, in several months, your unwanted hair will be there again. In laser hair treatment, there are claims that there are laser hair treatment that can result to permanent hair reduction.

Ideally, I’m aiming to find a product for pubic hair removal. Thanks!
You shouldn’t use depilatory creams to remove pubic hair, especially on the scrotum! They can cause moderate chemical burns on sensitive skin. Instead, consider using a trimmer to trim the hair down and then using and electric shaver to smooth it off.
